About This Message
Using the picture of Lego blocks, guest speaker Ray Dawson unpacks what it means for us to be 'living stones' that God is building together into a spiritual temple. A loose block on its own achieves very little — but when each piece is placed according to the Creator's design, something beautiful and purposeful emerges. This message is a call to move from mere attendance to true belonging, building our lives and our church according to the pattern we see in Scripture.
“We can all be in the same room and actually not be built together. God wants to knit us together that we would become this temple for His Spirit.”— Ray Dawson
Key Points
- 1
Just as Lego blocks need the creator's booklet to reach their full design, we need Scripture — not trends or opinions — to guide how we build our lives and our church.
- 2
Each of us is a living stone with a unique gift and purpose; not one person in the body is random or without a role in what God is building.
- 3
When we come to salvation we move from independence to interdependence — we belong to one another, and God calls us to be properly plugged in, not just attending meetings.
- 4
We can build with gold and silver or with hay and straw; building according to God's Word is costly, but it is the only work that will survive the fire and bring glory to Jesus.
- 5
Love is the glue that binds us together in perfect harmony — not a love conditioned on what we receive back, but a love that flows from the reality that He first loved us.
