We respect your right to control your personal data.
How to Delete Your Account
You can delete your account and all associated data in two ways:
Option 1: In-App Deletion
- Open The Way Church app
- Go to More > Settings
- Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account
- Confirm the deletion when prompted
Option 2: Email Request
Send an email to ryan@thewaymandurah.com.au with the subject line "Account Deletion Request" and include the email address associated with your account.
What Data is Deleted
When you delete your account, the following data is permanently removed:
- Your profile information (name, email, profile photo)
- Your personal sermon notes and journal entries
- Your prayer requests
- Your pastoral care submissions
- Your testimonies and voice notes
- Your event RSVPs and volunteer roster entries
- Your connect group memberships
- Your chat messages
- Your Bible highlights, bookmarks, and reading progress
- Your notification preferences and app settings
Processing Time
In-app account deletion is processed immediately. Email requests will be processed within 7 business days. You will receive a confirmation email once your data has been deleted.
Data Retention
After deletion, all your personal data is permanently removed from our systems within 30 days. Anonymised, aggregated data (such as total prayer count) may be retained for church reporting purposes but cannot be linked back to you.
